Dani Raanan

The first story Dani Raanan wrote was about a magic piano. 30 years later, she’s still writing about magic, from her houseplant jungle in Leeds where she lives with her rock of a husband and two children (one half-knight-half-witch, and one unicorn. Of course). The magic got darker and the stories longer; her debut novel, The Crafter’s Wife, is a fairy tale fusion of Jewish mythology and her scientific background. In her spare time (what spare time?) Dani can be found singing – loudly – whilst watering the jungle and failing to cajole a ginger furball through his cat flap.
